Urunga Mylestom Chamber of Commerce (UMCC) is proud to represent both Community and Business interests on the eastern seaboard of the Bellingen Shire. These interests are wide-ranging, as indicated by our calendar of up-coming events, and the activities associated with the following logos:
The next major event for 2014 will be TOAST Urunga,
– Sunday 7th September,
at which the Chamber hopes to partner with the
Love Food Hate Waste initiative.
If the partnership eventuates, the Chamber will be promoting Love Food Hate Waste at TOAST Urunga its annual community food, wine and music festival – held on Father’s Day every year. As TOAST Urunga attracts some 8000 attendees from within 200km of our area, this has the potential to be a most worthwhile partnership.
The Chamber will be printing a selection of the Love Food Hate Waste leaflets, to be available in local supermarkets, and will be encouraging local restaurants and Clubs to also support the Love Food Hate Waste initiative.
For more information, just follow the links on the Love Food Hate Waste logo above.
Urunga, Mylestom, Raleigh, Repton and North Beach are unique coastal villages situated in the beautiful Bellingen Shire, about halfway between Sydney and Brisbane and only 20 minutes south of Coffs Harbour Airport.
Our region is a favourite holiday destination for young and old, with a host of attractions, accommodation and facilities for visitors.

Featured Community Organisation
Urunga Public School
Urunga Public School is off to a great start in 2014. Enrolments have increased, which means the schhol will remain a 9-teacher school. This not only benefits the children through smaller class sizes, but it also enables teachers to give their students more individual attention.
12 of the school leaders recently attended the Halogen Young Peoples Conference in Brisbane, where they joined up with 4500 other students from NSW and Queensland. They were inspired by many motivational speakers such as Wes Mannion, the new director of Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo.
Starting at 6.30pm on Saturday the 29th of March, the school is hosting Earth Hour Night. There will be a BBQ run by the Lions Club, a demonstration by the local Fire Fighters, and then viewing a film which will be powered by solar – kindly organised by Bellingen Solar. All are most welcome to attend.
Of course, to support our activities, both the Chamber and the Community depend on wonderful Chamber and Event Sponsors.
The downloadable two- and four-sided brochures below were developed to assist locals and visitors alike, and include excellent maps. And here is a link to a Boating Map of the Bellinger and Kalang Rivers.
Enjoy the experience, and tell your friends…!!
